What is Family Rules and how is it different than Parental Controls?**

Internet Security comes with a completely redesigned Family Rules feature set. Family Rules helps you set healthy boundaries for your children’s digital life.

Family Rules allows you to:

• Filter content. Block inappropriate content based on content topics, the age of your child, etc.
• Control apps.* Screen the applications before allowing your child to use them or set time limits for when they can be used.
• Set time limits. Schedule device-free time for homework, bedtime, family time, etc. by setting an internet curfew.
• Locate lost devices. If the device is lost or stolen, you can ring an alarm to help locate it. You can also secure your personal information by locking or wiping the device.
• Block calls.* Prevent unwanted incoming and outgoing calls and messages (SMS/MMS) by blocking phone numbers.

Plus, you don’t need to have your child’s device in hand to manage Family Rules. Simply log in to the My Account online security portal.

How do I set up Family Rules on my child’s device?**

You can manage your child’s Family Rules profile remotely through My Account. Pre-defined settings are automatically applied based on your child’s age category, making setup a breeze. You also have the option to adjust and customize these settings to meet your family’s protection needs. To set up Family Rules, follow the steps below

1. Click the add Device button in the security portal.
2. Choose My Child’s Device and click Continue.
3. Confirm which device you want to protect.
4. Send an email or an SMS to your child’s device in order to install the service on that device.
5. Install the app on your child’s device and follow the prompts to set up Family Rules settings.

Does Family Rules work over mobile data and Wi-Fi?**

Yes, Family Rules settings are effective over both Wi-Fi and mobile data, so your child’s device will be protected at all times, even when they’re not at home.
