What Services Are Covered

The Affordable Connectivity Program through the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) provides eligible TDS® customers up to a $30/mo. credit toward Internet service. Qualifying households on tribal lands may be eligible for a discount up to $75/mo. Installation fees are not covered.

If you qualify for ACP, you’re eligible for TDS Connect at no cost. This service provides Internet speeds up to 200Mbps, and includes Wi-Fi. Call 844-203-5055 for details.

Who Qualifies

To receive the discount, households must meet income requirements or participate in certain federal programs, such as SNAP, Medicaid, or WIC. Existing Lifeline customers automatically qualify.

The ACP provides households a discount of up to $30/mo.—or up to $75/mo. if your household is on qualifying tribal lands—on Internet service. The ACP replaces the Emergency Broadband Benefit Program. It helps low-income households pay for Internet service.

To qualify for the ACP based on income, a household must have income at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty guidelines. The guidelines for 2022 are available from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

The federal government pays your Internet provider directly, so you won't receive any funds. After the ACP credit is applied, you are responsible for paying any amount that remains on your bill—if any.

Yes. Customers with a past-due balance—or a balance in collections—are still eligible for the program.

Yes. The program is available to existing, prior, and new customers.

Eligibility is limited to one discount per household. The federal government defines a household as “any individual or group of individuals who are living together at the same address and share income and expenses.” More information is available on the ACP website.

The discount will remain available until ACP funds are exhausted.

Affordable Connectivity Program: The Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) provides qualifying customers a monthly discount up to $30 ($75 in tribal areas) towards broadband internet service. Visit https://www.affordableconnectivity.gov/ for qualifications details and to apply. Approval and eligibility decided by the FCC/USAC. Discount applied within 1-2 bill cycles after signup and ACP enrollment. The ACP discount is non-transferable and limited to one monthly internet discount per household. Customers may cancel at any time without a termination fee. The ACP is a federal government benefit program operated by the FCC and, if the Program ends, or when a household is no longer eligible, you will be subject to TDS’s regular rates, terms, and conditions.

Free Internet Offer: Offer not available in all areas. Free Internet requires TDS Connect Internet service and successful enrollment in ACP. TDS Connect available to qualifying customers at select addresses. Offer ends when ACP funding ends or if/when your household no longer is enrolled in ACP or no longer eligible. After program ends, regular rates apply. Customer responsible for any services not covered by ACP credit. Equipment may be required, and normal fees apply. Delinquent accounts may lose service.
