I keep seeing a “banking protection active” notification at the top of my browser. What is banking protection?

Internet Security includes a feature called Banking Protection which keeps your financial transactions safe while you shop or bank online. Banking Protection is available for Windows computers and Android phones or tablets.

Banking Protection is an added layer of security designed to keep your money safe while shopping or banking online.

An unwanted third-party connection can manipulate the transaction you are trying to make and transfer funds to an untrusted party. Plus, these cyber-attacks are not usually visible to the user.

Banking Protection gives you peace of mind by preventing man-in-the-middle attacks and blocking untrusted Internet connections during your banking or shopping session. A notification will appear at the top of your browser when Banking Protection is in use. Once you complete your banking or shopping session, Banking Protection will automatically end.

As an added layer of protection, all connections of the trusted processes are checked. If a trusted process connects to an untrusted or unknown IP-address, the connections are automatically blocked. You are not given a notification if an untrusted connection has been blocked.
