Steps to Create Your New Password, and Frequently Asked Questions

TDS is updating your email experience. The look and feel of the email screens will change and be more user-friendly.

Updates to the new experience will take place overnight between November 6-7, 2018, between the hours of 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. MST.  

You will be unable to access your TDS email account during your account’s update. Downtime should be less than one hour.

All @bajabb, @beyondbb or @TDSMail users are required to create a new password. Directions to create your new password are at the “Create Your New Password” link below.

Create Your New Password

To create your new password, follow these directions:

  1. Go to hellotds.com.
  2. Click on 'My Account/Login'.
  3. Click on 'Email Access'.Hellotds.com
  4. Click on 'Continue to portal.tds.net' to create a new password or login. You’ll be redirected to “portal.tds.net”.
  5. Click on 'Email'.TDS Portal
  6. In the TDS-Provided User Name field, enter your email address and click 'Continue'.Secure login
  7. Click 'Forget Password' located at the lower left of the screen.Forgot password
  8. The “Confirm your Identity” screen will appear. A call me/text me option will be shown for a phone number, and an email option may also appear (Do not use the email option if you are using the non-updated email).Confirm your identity
  9. Select an option and click 'Continue' which will send an automated message with a security code that will need to be entered in the next screen.

    If you do not receive a security code, the following message will appear.We're having trouble

  10. Enter the security code and click & ‘Submit'.Enter security code
  11. This screen will validate customer via email address/phone number. Enter a phone number or account number and click 'Continue'.
  12. In the Change Password and Confirm Password field, enter a new password and click 'Continue'.Enter password
  13. The prompt to update/confirm recovery information will appear. This step can be skipped.
  14. Click 'Set Up Recovery Contacts'.
  15. Enter an email address other than the email you are currently trying to access and click 'Continue'.
  16. Add a cell phone number to receive a text with a security code or an automated call and click 'Continue'.Add new recovery phone number
  17. You’ll be redirected back to TDS Login page. Enter email address and click 'Continue'.Secure login
  18. Enter email password and click 'Sign-In'.

Once you are signed in, you’ll be welcomed into the new email experience and be asked to agree to the Terms of Service by clicking "I accept the terms of this agreement" and click 'Submit'. The new email screen will appear.Terms of service

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What if I use my cell phone or another mobile device to access email?
    Once the update has occurred, you will need to sign in; you’ll be prompted to update/change your password on your cell phone, tablet, laptop and any other mobile devices on which you access your TDS email. You will then have to agree to Terms of Service before accessing your email.
  2. I’m a POP/IMAP email client, is there a change for me?
    POP/IMAP email client such as Outlook or phone apps might need to be manually updated after the update occurs. For more information visit our website.
  3. Is my email address included in update?
    Customers whose email ends with @bajabb, @beyondbb or @TDSMail are included in the update. Your email address will remain the same.
  4. What happens to my contact lists, saved emails, calendars, and folder structure?
    Your contact lists, saved emails, calendars and folder structure will be saved in the update.
  5. I have links to the email log-in page saved, will these be migrated?
    Any saved links to the email log-in page will need to be updated after the email update.
  6. What if I haven’t accessed my TDS email account in several months?
    If you haven’t accessed your TDS email account in six months (since March, 2018), it will be deactivated by November 7 for security reasons. All of the contents will be lost.
  7. I’m a TV Everywhere and TDS email customer, is there anything different for me?
    You can now use the same user name to access TV Everywhere and your TDS email. If you use the @TDSMail, @beyondbb, or @bajabb email address you can still use these credentials as well. This is a big benefit as you only have to log in one place and one time to have access, NO need to separately log in to check email.
  8. I’m a TV Everywhere customer but don’t use the TDS Email, is there anything different for me?
    You’ll need a tds.net email to access TVE. You can set up a tds.net email account by going to hellotds.com and creating a new email account.
  9. My spouse and kids each have email accounts and TV Everywhere log-ins. Is there a change in how we log-in?
    You’ll continue to log-in with your current user names. All users on the account will be linked together under the admin account, which is the person whose name appears on the billing statement. Example: a customer with 4 TVE log-ins and 3 email accounts will be linked under the user whose name appears on the billing statement.
  10. Can I use a vanity email address?
    Our new email platform doesn’t support vanity emails. If you currently use a vanity email address, you’ll have to switch to a tds.net email address.
